SoloGardener Chronicals #1
SoloGardener Chronicles
I've been putting off starting this one. Everything else on this site has a shape to it — the pillar posts run Monday, Wednesday, Friday, The Long View shows up every Tuesday like clockwork. This doesn't work that way, and it isn't supposed to.
Chronicles is where the rest of it lives. Not the research, not the field notes — just the parts of a life that don't fit anywhere else. Old friendships. Things I've made with my hands. The parts of the day that don't make it into anything else I write. No schedule, no lesson at the end of it. I'll post when there's something worth telling, and some weeks that'll be nothing at all.
So — no real story today. Just wanted to open the door before I walk anyone through it.
Sophie's over in her playpen right now, half asleep, but she spent the last hour keeping one eye on me instead of anything else going on around her. That's her way — she'd rather know where I am than what's happening elsewhere in the room. Eventually she gives up and naps while I keep working. We'll get out for a walk around the block later, but right now this is enough for her — just knowing I'm here. Twenty-seven years of farming and I still don't know a better definition of company than that.
That's about the size of it. This is where I'll be, some Saturdays, when there's something to say.
